Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Maruti’s First EV SUV

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is the company’s first all-electric SUV, aimed at mainstream EV buyers with strong range, advanced safety, and extensive EV support ecosystem — including charging infrastructure and an integrated app experience.

Powertrain & Performance

  • Two battery capacities: 49 kWh and 61 kWh.

  • Motor outputs for India-market units: ~142 bhp (49 kWh) and ~172 bhp (61 kWh) in front-wheel-drive; AWD available globally.

  • Torque around ~189–192 Nm depending on variant.

Optional ALLGRIP-e electric AWD system delivers enhanced traction and a Trail mode for varied conditions.

Range & Charging

  • Claimed up to ~543 km ARAI range with the 61 kWh battery (real-world might vary by conditions).

     

  • Supports DC fast charging — typically ~45–50 minutes from 0 to 80% with suitable chargers.

     

  • Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option available to reduce upfront cost.

Charging Ecosystem

  • Maruti Suzuki’s “e for me” app enables locating and using public and home charging points with UPI payment and charging control integrated.

     

  • The company plans 100,000+ charging points over coming years and 1,500+ EV-ready service workshops.

  • A modern digital cockpit with a twin-screen layout (digital cluster + large infotainment), with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

  • Features panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and panoramic fixed glass roof.

  • 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, with standard Level-2 ADAS (adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, emergency braking), seven airbags, 360° camera, ABS, ESC and parking sensors.

  • Additional features include tyre pressure monitoring, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Acoustic Vehicle Alarm System.

Pricing & Market Context

  • Expected price range from ~₹15 lakh to ₹19 lakh+ (ex-showroom) depending on battery pack and trim.

Sold through Nexa premium dealerships to position it as a feature-rich EV.
