Relux Electric’s Approach to EV Charging Infrastructure in India

Relux Electric is rapidly emerging as a key player in the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure landscape in India, focusing on building a wide, reliable network of public and highway charging stations to support the country’s growing EV adoption.

Current Network and Coverage

Relux has already deployed over 200 charging stations with more than 500 individual charging points in major South Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kochi, and Vijayawada. Its network also spans key intercity highway corridors, helping EV drivers travel longer distances with confidence.

The company’s DC fast-charging options range from smaller units suitable for daily city use to more powerful chargers on highways designed for rapid recharging, supporting both passenger vehicles and commercial fleets.

Expansion Strategy

Relux plans to expand beyond South India with a phased rollout across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, and Rajasthan in the next 12–18 months. Its strategy uses a “Hub-and-Spoke” model, establishing major charging hubs in metropolitan centers before extending connectivity along connecting highways to build a cohesive national network.

Partnerships and Ecosystem Role

Collaboration is central to Relux’s growth. The company works closely with automakers, fleet operators, technology partners, and government bodies to accelerate deployment and ensure compatibility and ease of use for EV owners.

Relux also offers home and workplace charging solutions through partnerships, supporting end-to-end installation, maintenance, and management of charging systems for residential complexes, offices, and fleet depots.

Funding and Growth Focus

With ₹250 crore in project funding, Relux aims to deploy more than 300 new stations and 1,000 additional charging points, invest in advanced technology for seamless customer experience, and introduce higher-capacity chargers to serve evolving EV needs.

Franchise Program and Local Expansion

Relux has launched its “Relux Connect” franchise model to enable local partners to own and operate charging stations while benefiting from Relux’s brand, technology, and operational support. This model offers attractive returns and aims to accelerate infrastructure growth in both urban and highway locations.

Reaching over 1,000 sales underscores a growing appetite for high-end electric vehicles in India, especially among buyers who prioritise premium comfort, advanced tech and sustainable performance.

Future Priorities

Over the next 2–3 years, Relux Electric aims to become one of India’s top three charge point operators, build a dense charging network across 15+ states and 50+ highway corridors, and create a user-friendly, reliable charging experience with high uptime and seamless interoperability.
